    ok, i finally got my hands on a copy of win XP Pro, but i dont know weather to just install it over my current OS (win XP home) or reformat the HD and start from scratch, what do you recommend?

    I definatly recomend a clean installation, but be sure to backup all of the settings that you need such as your favorites and documents....

    If you show all hidden files and backup your user folder under c :Documents and Settings you should get most of the settings and stuff that you will need.

    Or use the files and settings transfer wizard (Accessories -> System Tools -> Files and Settings Transfer Wizard). Just be sure to use the custom list option when it comes up, or the backup file will be huge.

    agree, full reinstall can't be beat! You'll be much happier with your computer if you do this :) LATER!
