I recently picked up the Logitech Z-2300 speaker system and this 2.1 set just blows every other 2.1 set out of the water IMO. The bass is simply incredible and a bit too powerful (I love it). I am a fan of Winamp but with this system I tried Windows Media player 9 and with their SRS Trubass effect it just makes the bass even more powerful.

I tried out my friends DFX Winamp plugin and while it was good, I found Trubass and SRS to be a bit better.

I am not an audiophile so I don't know if SRS is 'crap' or if DFX is 'crap'. If there are, i would love to know the good stuff! I like the Winamp interface and media library (like the Most played list, ease, interface).

Are there other Media players I should look at? I tried Songbird and that just seems too 'young' at the moment (ie. inferior right now, potential to be great).

BTW... speakers aren't graded on how much bass it can produce.

Anyways.. try SRS audiosandbox. This "equalizer" will cost some money, but for you, I think it's a small price to pay.

This thing works on any audio or video player. What it does is redirect all of your audio stream to the software equalizer and then change the sound a bit, then feed it back to your speakers achieving in your opinion, better sound. It works the same way as the SRS/WOW thing in WMP, but has better customizability and features.
