    Gidday guys

I have just pre-ordered the Windows 7 Professional upgrade from Amazon, getting it shipped to an Auntie in NC, who is then going to post it out to me in OZ as it is a lot cheaper than buying it here($120aus vs $ 400aus). However, I am seeing and hearing a lot of rumblings that if it is bought in the US it cannot be activated and used outside the US. Anybody able to give me a definitive answer, at the moment it seems mainly hearsay. I would have thought that as long as Amazon/Microsoft got paid it would not have mattered where the product was used.

I will be cheesed off if I've done my dough, or is it is a case of Microsoft's world ends at the US borders/

    Regards to all

correct. As long as you have the product + key with you, you can activate and use it even on the moon (if you have the internet there)
    cheer!

Worst case have your aunt call from NC(I'm from Wilmington myself) and activate over the phone if you can't.

so this will be fine ive ordered two and im getting them sent to a freinds daughter in.... ummm... i dunno somewhere on the east coast...

this is going to be an amazing saving its going to cost me $130 odd AUD with release day delivery plus cost of postage to australia..
instead of forking out $400 AUD to buy it when its released here...

it seems like I can do a business here, haha. Order W7 from MS for $ 50 per copy then sell to people in different countries for $ 70 :D. Just kidding
But seriously, do you think MS will restrict the IP address for downloading option?

No but it may be credit-card restricted. Like, the US download will only accept Mexican, American and Canadian credit cards etc...

I know. 'cause I pre-ordered from MS store already with Bank of America account. But the day W7 is released, I will in Vietnam. So hopefully, there will be no IP address restriction for download.

i very much doubt it, because what if you bought it as a gift for someone?

like if i (in australia) bought it for a freind(in US) it shouldnt matter

it would most likely be the postal address...

    can anyone confirm anything???

do you have friend or someone who you can trust there in US. I don't mind doing that for you but since we don't know each other so it is the case.
