    Hi all,

I am just wondering, how many try this program? I just tried it, it works well. Are any programs like this, or this is only one or the most popular? For those who dont know what this program do, this program allows to alter visual of XP.

I used to use it but it's a helluva resource hog. I currently use Windows Classic look to lessen the stress on the computer and keep it running things easier. I'm on an older Desktop right now..

You should look into the theme patcher, and an MS Style for XP. It gets pretty in depth, but it doesn't use near the resources window blinds does. It also doesn't cost money.

Transformation packs are also popular. Things like Vista Inspirat or Longhorn Transformation pack.

I am always in favor of changing the look, but I HATE slowdowns.

You can also try other GUIs, explorer isn't the only one.

You can put them on and they work in place of explorer on XP.

i am using Windows Blind 5.01 (licensed version) for three months now both for my notebooks and desktop. and i would say it is a pretty cool software. although it is true that it is rather resource intensive and can be a burden to resource challenged machines. but for those who have the power to spare this is something to try.

Windowblinds is worth the $20! However, a good free alternative is UXTheme.dll

Yeah, I just noticed that, about WB using a lot of resources. :(

But I am going to try others.

    Thanks.

I tried v5.01 and it completely messed up my computer. I went to change the theme in windowsblinds and my laptop just froze. Task manager wouldnt come up so i had to do a hard reset. When my computer booted up it would freeze after displaying my background!! Did it 3 times!

Going into safe mode and uninstalling it never worked so had to do a system restore (i love that utility) and everything was cool again.

Im never gona use it again!
