I have Windowblinds 5 and XP. Does anyone know how to make changes to the appearance, such as windows background and fonts, and save the changes?

I can go into Other Advanced Controls and make the changes I want, but then when I restart my computer the changes are reset back to the default appearance of the original skin. I've tried saving the 'modified theme', but it just does not stay after a restart.

    Thanks for any help.

Wait, you actually got WB to work and not fry your computer? Lucky you...

Are you trying to change these settings though the WB interface or through the properties of the desktop dialog?

Yep!, I've have it for about a year and I'd have to say that it works flawlessly, except that I'd really like to adjust the appearance of the available themes.

You're the one running Vista. I'd say you're the one living life on the edge. ;)

What theme are you trying to use? Make sure you clicked the apply button at the bottom-left corner

I'm running Black Vista, but I've tried making changes to others and it's the same thing. I do hit the apply changes button. I can change the appearance of the theme, but when I restart the default skin comes back.

    Well said... ;)

I had WB twice and both times had to get refunds because of all the issues I'd had. For some reason it would not work on my M140, and I think it was a driver issue and WB staff agreed. The second time (I purchased it again for my nc8430 thinking that my GMA900 driver issue wouldn't hit me again) I had huge issues with FF and Office. FF could do a maximized window, explorer.exe crashed a lot, and MS Office seems to lag a lot. WB support didn't email me in order 10 days and I got a refund through PayPal.

There's a lot of lucky people who got that to work, but I'm not one of them for some reason.

I've seem similar issues with other programs when you run registry cleaners...do you? If so, I'd try reinstalling it.

    Your humbleness is duly noted.

No registry cleaner running. My thread is stab in the dark I'm afraid. I've searched the web for some information about this to no avail. Seems strange to me that I'm the only one that would like to change the way a Windowblinds theme looked. I don't have the time to learn how to skin, so I guess I'm just a pig at the trough until someone skins the theme that I really want.

Okay...I'm a bug butt because I forgot about this. If all you want to do is modify an existing theme, you need to purchase Skin Studio Professional. Stardock sells it...you can edit and change there.
