Hey Guys
I just running windows 10 preview some week and got some issues with it ...
I want to know why microsoft can't be arsed to renew ancient basic generic drivers from 2006 ? It's 2014 year !!
And all sudden when I right click the context menu takes ''weeks'' to comes up so crap windows is going DOWN!
And when i am typing ALWAYS cursor jumps to some random place and I am typing crap then this started SINCE Win 7!!
When I click to explorer icon or chrome it just shows am clicking on it but no response no open and then after ''weeks''
it open 20 windows bcos obviously clicked too many times.. The WHOLE windows is just one FAIL
actually been always ...

Just a heads up, if microsoft updates it's driver model, they will have A LOT of angry customers. Look at the whole Vista fiasco.
I think maybe you could do a fresh install of windows if things go sour. -
Hey guy.
The driver dates for the 'generic' devices are not 'accurate'. If you look just below the date you'll see the version number, which will correspond to the Windows build. Like for 8.1, (build 9600), the "2006" drivers are also build 9600 (impossible). The date is one of those Microsoft mysteries, likely for compatibility reasons.. BUT... If the truth is what you seek, you can get a better idea of the actual date of a driver by looking in Device Manager, right-click the device -> properties -> Driver -> Driver Details. The driver files are listed. Simply check the dates of those files in the system. For example, my "Generic USB Hub" is a 6/21/2006 device, but the actual driver file, usbd.sys, is dated 5/31/2014. It's even signed by MS on that date. One thing, you always know a "6/21/2006" driver is a Microsoft generic driver (which could be perfectly fine due to the generic nature of some PC components). Convenient, eh?
I don't understand this issue, and I have a feeling "weeks" is an overstatement. I can say if you have installed any apps that add to the context menus, that's where you should focus your troubleshooting. If you've installed something that is not Win10TP friendly (perhaps something old), then.. remove it.
First thing I'd do is boot a Linux live disc and see if the problem happens there. Let's eliminate hardware. As well, we could hear more about your system. If you've had it for five years now at least, maybe it's developing a fault.
Again, I feel your "weeks" is a bit over-the-top. Have you submitted feedback to Microsoft? One of the caveats of joining their Insider program for Win10TP testing is you're supposed to be telling THEM about this stuff. They can't fix it if you don't tell them it's broken.alexhawker and Ferris23 like this. -
When posts get deleted, it's usually because they break some of the forum rules. Reading them again might help avoiding that in the future.
