Just got a BSOD while playing The division 1, Kernel Security Failure or something. Last i update i did was the 8th sept one, gonna try the one above and see if it happens again.

Goddamn Windows, be stable for once..

Windows 10 version 1809 is no longer supported after today neowin.com | Nov 10, 2020

Today is the last day of official support for the Windows 10 Home or Pro editions of Windows 10 version 1809. Originally set to fall out of support in May, Windows 10 version 1809 is officially out of support after today. Microsoft extended support for Windows 10 version 1809, also known as the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, to ease the transition to newer versions of Windows 10 during the current global pandemic.

In short: Microsoft has updated the microcode updates for Windows 10. It is KB4589212 for Windows 10 20H2 and 2004. KB4589211 for Windows 10 1909 and 1903. For my part, i didn't update win10, still on 17763.973 and got a back up of my mcgenuinintel.dll but want to know if those last updates are safe or not. My MSI GE73 8RF with my win 10 teawks works fine, no crash, bsod, bug. Gaming on it is smooth, probably better then newer version of windows...

 

Hi, and thanks. I never install Microcode patches. I mean you can uninstall afterwards if not happy. Or just delete mcgenuinintel.dll from the OS.

Yeah, I won’t update to latest and greatest. I prefer Win 10 Ent 2019 LTSC.

 

Hi, Im still on redstone 5 and installing the LTSC updates. Still works. As for undervolting, I can still undervolt with the latest LTSC update. Also I did not update to the latest dell bios as they have patch it with the plundervolt update. Hope this helps.

Sry, i'm lazy to reinstall everything, tweaking windows from start was a pain in the ass in Nov 2018 when i bought my laptop (without an OS on it).

 

if your OS is still version 17763.xxx thats redstone 5 same as mine which is what Im saying we are able to save time doing a clean install because the LTSC updates still works on the home version..

 

the KB4594442 and KB4586839 updates seem to be the last LTSC updates to " work" on the Home & Pro editions of 1809.

the KB4592440 update released on Tue 12/8 may not work on 1809 home/pro versions and may either fail to update or fail to install with "not applicable" message - just recently got word in another forum that KB4592440 update is NOT offered to 1809 home/pro editions thru windows update, so it seems that KB4592440 is only applicable to enterprise, education & ltsc editions
