Turned on Notebook and Windows 10 icon notified me the update is ready , this ahead of the launch announced tomorrow, all went smoothly same time as installing Win 8.1 by disk. Probably upgrade to Pro Version for extra cash. Downloaded a few Win 10 drivers mouse, AMD CCC, ect.
Cheers

But the launch was yesterday?! (29th)
-
Not everyone gets that notification at the same time. It is delivered in waves.
Hence why people yesterday had problems activating after their update.
Also, you don't have to wait for that notification either as long you reserve. (Either you got the estimated date of start or through other upgrade methods) -
Very interesting. My win 10 update icon was visible yesterday but it's gone today. I'll reboot Friday and see if it is still missing.
-
Mine has disappeared as well, although if you go to windows update, it says I still have my copy reserved.
Curious to hear if a reboot restores it or if you manage to get it to re-appear in another way. -
Thanks frank55, that's what I ended up doing today. The icon did come back and microsoft sent me an email saying it might be a few days or a few weeks, so I figured I might as well do it now when I had some time.
No major problems so far, but I haven't tried too much as of yet. -
Yes, Icon has returned.
