I've heard of (but am not familiar with) the whole forced automatic update controversy. Googling turns up a bunch of pre-release information from months ago that indicates Pro/Enterprise have a "long term servicing branch" feature that can be turned on in Windows Update, but it seems this long term servicing branch a completely separate edition of its own now...?

So now that RTM is out, what's the final word on this topic anyways?

You eventually have to update. The Pro version lets you delay but not stop the updates. Others with the pro have tried the stopping of updates only to have anothre release come in right behind it.
