Is it REAL ?![]()

Thats just a 3rd party theme...
Anyways Microsoft debunked the rumors that it would come out next year today. -
that looks like its just skinned vista.
but that sure does look nice. -
yea.. i really nice skin for vista...... 7 is supposed to be around 2011
-
actually no... iv seen this one before now that i think about it... its linux
-
I don't believe any of you.

You know what Jalf...I am 100% on your side and your arguments about the pointless upgrades to Vista when XP does the job anyway. With far less system resources.
And I will stop there before stirrers start a whole new argument again.
Cheers,
Theo -
Who cares when it would be released! All i care of is to not think of it since it's wayyy too early! Vista FTW
-
I'm looking forward to it because it's supposed to have all the features that got pulled from Vista. I don't see it showing up in '09 though, even if MS wanted to ship it that soon, just because I don't think they can finish it in time. Heck, I'm skeptical about the 2011 ship date.

The OS will be in development from the 3 years after the release of vista, Vista was released 06 , Windows 7 should be on target for 09.
There is alot of confusion from microsofts statements Claming it will be released in 3 years (hence 3 years + 2008 = 2011) But its wrong and its 3 yeras since the release of vista.
Early copys of vista were available later 05. That would mean we should see early screenshots by atleast the end of this year.
Im only saying what ive read and i dunno what to belive , personally i think it will be released late 2009 early 2010.
Also , That screenshot showing the kernal number and vista type theme , I think that real and have no reason to think somones faked it.
PS , no-one have a go at me please. I havnt said anything wrong. Here are my sources:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/28/windows-7-isnt-headed-for-2009-says-microsoft-more-like-2011/
"Update: Other quotes from Microsoft has the date set at 3 years from the launch of Vista, which would indeed land it around 2009, so perhaps all hope is not lost. No date is set yet, and our money is on 2010 at the earliest."
"Microsoft, for its part, had this to say about Windows 7: "We are currently in the planning stages for Windows 7 and expect the development to take approximately 3 years since the release of Windows Vista. The specific release date will be determined once the company meets its quality bar for release," said the spokesperson. "

Well, my guess is the Beta 1 (closed beta) near the end of 2009, the open beta in the summer of 2010 and the final release at the beggining of 2011
-
yea... id rather it be let out in 2011 any way, then they let programmers make software work, let computers run it, and work out some gliches.... then it wont be like th e release of 2 other wonderful OSes...
caugh....win me..... caugh..... vista (which i actually love now) -
Saying that XP is better is like saying an old car is better than a new one just because it's faster on a straight line and it takes less gas to the mile/KM. -
The difference being that I don't use the looks of my OS to pick up women. No one cares about what your OS looks like, outside of us geeks, whereas your car is seen as more of a statement about your taste and wealth.
Also, I did make the same arguments about Win2k, so did Jalf I believe, and lots of people were using it until MS end of lifed it to force everyone onto XP for profit reasons.
I'm not saying vista is bad, I'm just saying that from my perspective and lots of other people's as well apparently faster and better mileage matters more than pretty.
I'm still torn on the whole release date thing though, on the one hand Windows 7 is going to be what Vista should have been, so they shouldn't have to totally start from scratch, but on the other hand MS doesn't exactly have a record of delivering major products on time, and there's going to be real pressure not to crowd it in too close to the Vista release to MS can fully capitalize Vista without having half the market jump from XP to 7.
Short story, for my .02 I'd be surprised to see a consumer version of Windows 7 before 2012 (the server very well might show up earlier). -
lets talk about this honestly... if microsoft says that they are shooting for a release date of 2011 we should probably expect it around 2014-15... i mean look at vista (or Windows Longhorn as it's original name was)... so maybe they are shooting for a 2009 date but are really just leaving some leeway by saying its 2011...
*cowers in fear from the vista haters*
