Did any of you guys install MS Office (2003/2007) with Windows 7? Does it work fine?

2007 works great, there are even jump lists for MS Office applications.

Yeah, I have Office 2007 on W7 and it works very well. Word and Excel start up impressively quick, as it's ready to use just after I release the mouse button.

The only issue that I've had is that I've had Word crash twice. Outlook has crashed too, but I've experienced those crashes in Vista as well, so they don't count.

Same here; no issues at all so far with Office 2007 Standard. I have heard reports of Word 2007 crashing in W7 (Paul Thurott mentioned it a couple of times) but hasn't for me yet.

Is anyone here using Office 2007 Ultimate? I can't figure out a way to run it on Vista and 7 without using 2 of the entries of my multiuse key.

I'm running Office Enterprise courtesy of my school, but I don't have any licensing problems at the moment. Maybe try sharing the MS Office folder from your Vista HDD in Win 7?

How do you know you are using the two entries of the key? You do still have to re-enter the key.

Sine MS apparently considers seperate partitions seperate devices, I'm assuming having to enter the key twice would use 2 entries. And since all the keys are used or close to all of them are, I don't really want to cause problems with other machines.

Sharing my Vista parition still gives me the notice that "The operating system is presently not configures to run this application."

Oh well, I can live with booting into Vista to use Office until 7 comes out for sale. Thanks guys.

You will need to enter the key anyways, if you reinstall you need to enter the key, so I don't see why you wouldn't need to enter the key again.

I'm thinking that only one key will be used up, as the way the activation works is based off the hardware itself, not partitions. For example, I have Office 2007 Standard on both my Vista and Windows 7 partitions with the same key and both activated successfully. Granted, I have a system with multiple hard-drives and each OS is on a separate disk but it still worked for me.

Edit: So when you activate on the Windows 7 partition, it will see that it really is the same machine so you should be good to go.

Did anyone notice that with Office 2007, Aero Snap doesn't work right? You can't unsnap the windows when they're maximized. (Seems like Chrome does the same thing... looks like if it doesn't have a standard Aero border, it doesn't work.)

I noticed that too as well. It's because they have custom borders rather than the standard borders the OS provides applications with.

Snap has been working fine for me with Chrome and word 2007. I use snaps with both on a daily basis.

Office 2007 was very buggy when I tried in on Windows 7. Alot of the time Word would hang and bring down the whole OS when I opened/saved files.

I had a LOT of problems with Word2007 crashing and when it crashed, most of the time it required a forced shutdown. I did a lot of searching and there are two fixes that have been reported to work. One is to do a registry tweak and the other is simply to uninstall and then reinstall Office2007. I did the first fix and still occasionally got crashes but since I did the complete reinstall it's been flawless.

I'll see if I can find the exact details of the registry tweak...

    OK, here it is.

    Delete the following registry subkey
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

Again, this did improve the amount of crashes I was getting but it didn't fix it 100%. Only a complete re-install fixed my crashing.
