It really annoys me that when the taskbar is on auto-hide, it still leaves a line of one or two pixels at the bottom. Is there any way to get rid of this, and make is hide completely?
What makes this worse it it isn't just a solid colour it has the vertical lines form whatever is open according to the taskbarI realise this is probably a feature but it catches my attention irritatingly.

I completely agree with you!!!!!! SOOO MUCH!!!
is it possible to remove that? I know its the task bar and it is not fully hiding! . this is also in XP and vista. i dont know how to remove it! -
It's actually worse in windows 7 than in XP, don't know about vista. In XP the taskbar hides fully when you maximise a window, just not for the rest of the time.
At least it disappears when I run firefox in fullscreen mode in win7, or I would be pissed -
Use small icons.

The proper way to hide a taskbar is to leave few pixle on the screen so the user knows it's hidden.
What you're trying to accomplish is the "improper way" to hide the taskbar.
Maybe using small icons will help. -
its not working even mall icons. anyone?

Go to task manager, kill explorer.exe and it'll "hide" your taskbar for good.

I like using the taskbar. I don't hide it at all.

I would say uncheck the "Always on Top" box, but it's not even there in Windows 7.

i am simply a pixel hogger. i want the taskbar to show no signs that it was there until i need it. i still want to use it, but if i dont need to, i want it to move away from my screen for the mean time. -
You could just hide it.............
but that vertical line isn't going away.
Sorry bud, this ain't In & Out Burger.
