Wow! Just installed Build 7201 64 bit! much more stable I feel. I love it. 0 problems!
Win 7 FTW
Screw Vista 64 bit that I was using, itsl ike a bought a new laptop now
-
You were praising XP FTW, then Vista 64 bit, and now Win 7 build 7201. What's next??, Win 7 RTM FTW?????
-
LOL, well I just saw teh l!ght of teh W!n 7
-
Had Vista x64 that was running fine, but Win7 x64 blows it out the wind.
-
I have Vista X64 at work and Win 7 X64 in my Laptop and I see no performance difference between them.

(fun rant)
OMG, the difference is so huge, I mean who in their right minds would pick any other OS? It's a miracle how awesome windows 7 is! It can even cure death!
....Seriously, your vista system must have been screwed up big time if you notice a huge, huge difference. -
Is this RC2?
-
-
Just noticed, one more + for Win 7, while creating a backup image through Acronis True Image, it only takes Win 7 seven mintues to do it, Vista takes up double that time. And the partition sizes are almost equal!
.
Plus, 90% of the drivers are installed out of teh box
Where are all teh Win 7 minions to defend meh? -
I'm dual-booting, and don't see a huge difference in performance.
-
Yeah especially with sp2, I must admit vista is pretty snappy as well
-
SP2 added no performance speeds to Vista, and that is a known fact, it was just a pack of cumilative updates, so don't go misleading people. Vista SP1 did improve speeds but not SP2
-
7201 has been great. I haven't had any stability problems, and it's definitely fast.
-
I can't take you seriously when you say SP2 has no preformance gains. It most definitely preforms faster, and Windows 7 is only slightly better than Vista SP2. In fact, Windows 7 only feels like Vista with bug fixes.
-
Well, this is good then. Win7 beta is slightly better than Vista and with bug fixes. Can't wait for RTM. I'm hesitant to go full bore with Win 7 because I hate doing full clean installs especially with the amount of apps I use and install. Will just have to do it again in four months!

build 7201 might fix that annoying issue with vista and being on for more than 2x hrs. Upon reaching this limit with vista sp1/sp2 you'd start to have garbled up sound. Win7 build 7201 let's test you and see. As far as responsiveness/performance goes. Yes i will say 7>Vista SP2 i tried vista x64 sp2 for exactly 48hrs to give it my view.
If it was responsive enough i'd stick with vista till 7 was final. Sadly vista wasn't randomly unresponsive and the audio thing got very annoying. It happens when you're using any network transfer after 2x hrs. I am a person who does dual-monitor and watches hulu on my laptop. This issue affects me greatly. We'll see how 7 goes so far.
On the drivers out of the box yes abosolutely yes. I have an asus g50vt one of the laptops that M$ shows on their page as a "gaming laptop" parents forced me to get an asus couldn't get the sager i wanted. But still m$ advertises it as made for vista. Yet when you get it oob no drivers for audio, video, internet, or pretty much anything else. If you don't have your driver cd with vista ready say goodbye to using vista. 7 had all of my drivers atleast there till i could get the others oob. I could get some updates and also get my new drivers.
7 is starting to be like the linux distros as far as oob performance goes. what i mean is you install it and the drivers are tehre all of the important ones that is ethernet/audio/standard vga driver. 7's going well i'll wait till final to give my verdict. -
Maxi, your continual flip-flopping on vista/win7 isn't doing much for your credibility.
-
system now performs twice as fast in everything.
Repeat after meh! XP FTW -

Lol. You're on crack. From w7 7201 to XP? This thread is irrelevant.
-
I dont notice much difference between Vista and Win7. But then I only run Vista on my desktop and that is probably too fast to notice any difference.

Windows 7 Build 7201 FTW
