How about we start a list of non-MS programs compatible w. Win 7 (RC)and non-compatible(thx for your comments). But you have to have run it and tested it yourself. Also, tell us if it's x86 or x64, but I would assume if it's compatible for x64, then it is for x86. Someone else might start a thread on Hardware, etc. It would help some folks plan ahead for future build compatibility, etc. I will post any additions in this first post and try to keep up w/ it, it if generates any interest

    I'll start off.

    Please reduce the font size.
You can add Avira Antivir free edition 9, Adobe Reader 9.1, HW Monitor, 7-Zip 4.65.

I only have the 32bit version of the OS running so naturally everything that follows are 32bit applications that work flawlessly with 7 RC:

    RoboForm

    Photo Shop Elements 7

    Nero Burning ROM ver 8

    DVDFab

    uTorrent

    Avira AntiVir 9

    WinRAR 3.80

Garmin software (GPS updater, Map Source etc...)

    iTunes 8

Stardock LogonStudio Vista (works great but with one minor issue)

    Hash Tab ver 2

    Ya i agree.
There are quite a few programs, though, that aren't compatiblie with W7 yet. So I think it would have been better to start a thread with 'Non-Compatible Programs for W7'. For example, Daemon tools.

Precisely, a list of incompatible programs would be a better use of time. I can say from experience that Norton Corporate AntiVirus 10.2 as well as ATI's Catalyst Control Center (ver 9.5) do not work, though the latter is listed as compatible on ATI's website.

problem is, is this a "Win7 compatible" or a "64bit compatible" List.

Win7 32bit should not have any compatibility problems with any software. Win7 64bit has the typical problems of any 64bit os (so does vista), a.k.a. drivers. and old pre32bit apps as well.

most x86 should not have any problems, but there are some. From ur comments, I'm listing incompatible software also. Several AV/Firewall's load components that are not compatible.

Think of W7 as Vista 2.0. It is different, yes, but not a great leap of difference as XP to Vista was. This will be a very smooth transition, and any software that doesn't function now, will soon (as in before W7 official release) will be updated to function "as well as" with Vista.

But a nice list for current reference. :)

Symantec Antivirus Corporate works but there's one slight problem. The Action Center detects it but it says "Symantec Antivirus is reported as installed and functioning but is reporting to the Action Center in a way that is not supported anymore." I have no idea what that means but the program works fine.

I don't have this problem in Vista though.

Daemon Tools, like others reported, is a program that is listed as incompatible but still worked without problems once I bypassed that error screen.
