Hi guys. This issue has been annoying me for quite some time. I bought a 1.5TB esata drive with the intent of using it for its high-speed transfer storage. Little did I know, that the drive is not working with windows. Its not the drive, and its not the computer. Bios detects drive no problem, and my OSx86 installation can read/write with Esata speed with no problems. What gives with windows?

Try updating the drivers for your southbridge controller (or go back to the default ones that come with windows).

I have one myself and for whatever reason my eSATA drive likes to disconnect/reconnect itself about 3-4 times before I can write anything to it; trying to read/write from it before that will cause stuttering (skipping audio) while the drive's being redetected. I never really noticed it with the default ones.

Ugh, where can I find the latest PM45 chipset drivers? Intel's website is a pain. Also, which drivers should I 'roll back" to under device manager?
