So the family pack was announced where you buy Windows 7 Home Premium bundle and you get 3 licenses for about $150.
however, what is the likelyhood that this pack will be 64bit?

If history is any indication, the key will be good for both 32bit and 64bit installations.
But my guess is that the 32bit DVD will be supplied, and you'll have to pay Microsoft $10 to ship a 64bit DVD. -
Well, no problem if that's the case, its a good deal and we have multiple laptops in this household.
-
All editions of Windows 7 except for Home Basic ship with both 32 and 64 bit disks in the box.
-
If you can't get the 64bit Windows 7 Disc, you can just use your friend's Windows 7 64bit Disc to install the OS and insert your license key.
64bit and 32bit share the same license key. Which mean if you have a Windows 7 Ultimate license key, you can activate either 64bit or 32bit of Windows 7 Ultimate.
If your friend don't have, and you don't want to waste money. You can download it somewhere in the internet. I don't know if this is fully LEGAL/LEGIT but it works for me(vista). -
as lithius said all but starter version of windows 7 will come with both discs so you will be able to choose with each individual computer...
1 w7 box comes with 1 32bit disc AND 1 64 bit disc -
the only thing is the media......
anyone can get the media.........but do they have the license to install is the question -
Microsoft said that all Windows 7 retail upgrade and full will have 2 disk, the first in 32-bit the second 64-bit.
-
good deal, hope it is 64 bit capeable.
-
Microsoft has said that both the retail and upgrade packages will come with both 32-bit and 64-bit disks. I see no reason why the family pack would be excluded from this. -
Excellent. After going 64bit, I cannot bear to ever go back to 32bit and with all my family's system having the now generic 4GB RAM, they can use 64bit windows 7 to the fullest potential.
Thanks people.
