The Windows 7 Family Pack has been discontinued by Microsoft. It was a great way to upgrade two or three systems for only $149. Perhaps it was too successful???![]()

what part of 'for a limited time only' do you not understand.
MSFT obviously budgeted a certain amount of marketing $$ for the promotion.
The SKUs are gone. Doesn't matter that it takes no effort to 'make more'.
Offer expired. Those that waited are SOL. -
Oh; so that's why we haven't gotten anymore shipments of it in the last few weeks.
Oh well, maybe I'll take one of the display boxes for it from our store. -

Still available in some stores here...
Cheers... -

I also don't appreciate the flippant comment that "those who waited are SOL". I'm sure some of them now regret making mortgage payments and feeding their kids instead of buying Windows 7 before the deal expired!
Sarcasm aside, Microsoft had the right to end the Family Pack deal at any time. But I question the wisdom of doing so at a time when consumer spending is at record low levels. If the number of postings on various Windows/Microsoft forums are indicative, there were a lot of folks who were planning to buy the Family Pack. While some of them will go ahead and purchase a regular upgrade, a lot of others won't. Personally, I'm still planning to buy one upgrade ($109) but my desktop and backup laptop are stuck with Vista indefinitely...
It wouldn't surprise me if the Family Pack is reintroduced down the road when Win7 sales go flat... -
