    Hello hello,

When saving a folder with a file inside of it directly to my desktop from the internet the folder icon does not display the thumbnail preview (where it shows the contents of the folder in small pictures within the folder on the folder icon). I can get the thumbnail preview to be shown by moving that folder into another folder and I can then move the folder saved from the internet back onto the desktop and that thumbnail preview will remain, but it will not show initially nor after refreshing the desktop nor restarting the computer. The only way that I have been able to make the thumbnail preview show on the folder icon on the desktop itself is after moving the original folder into another folder and back out again.

I did some searching around on Google and on these forums for this issue but came back with nothing that was at all helpful.

Has anyone else eperienced an issue like this? Can anyone tell me why this is happening or if there is some kind of fix?

I am fairly new to Windows 7 and thus am not yet familiarized with some of its quirks. If it helps, my Windows 7 version is Home Premium and it is a clean install.

    Thanks!

I'm almost certain that it has nothing to do with folder settings. I've scoured those with a fine tooth comb and found nothing that would suggest a reason for such an occurance. I've messed around with these folders a bit more and found some other weird stuff happening with the thumbnail preview. Depending upon how I move things around I can make a folder icon display no contents when it has contents and make it display contents which have actually been removed. To actually get it to show the contents when it doesn't initially I have to do the folder inside of folder thing that I mentioned in the first post or sometimes move the contents out of the folder then back in then do the folder inside folder maneuver. I'm dumbfounded as to why it doesn't just display the contents when there are contents and display no contents when there are no contents right away by itself?!?
