Was the computer previously on a domain, managed with GPO's? This is the only way to disable those types of features, outside of registry editing, that I am aware of. By right clicking on "Computer" and going to "properties" under the "Computer Name" section, you'll be able to see if it was on a domain. If so, simply change the computer name, pull it off the domain, and place it back in to a regular Windows Workgroup. Make sure there is a local account available for you to log in to, after rebooting (i.e. enable the built-in administrator account).

This is so strange.. Spent hours going trough the policy and the reg. And there is nothing referring to the buttons because there is no location in group and user polices or in regedit that you can do anything with this buttons. Everything is how it should be at least from my experience. I can't figure it out and iv spent enough time on it now.If you make a new user they will be thereand working. I go nuts over things like this if I cant figure out why it happens...Specially when I cant even find anyone that have had the same problem. At least its solved but I still haven't got over it.. Anyone that has experinced this and know what coused it. would get my spirtual inner soul understanding of eveything & nothing. If you kno everything why would you be a human. Learn and earn
