So I have 2 folders in my Documents library,
    C:\Users\<user name>\Documents
    and
    c:\Users\<user name>\Skydrive\Documents

I have the Library grouped by folder, like so... image

I wanted to move files from the normal documents folder to the Skydrive folder just by dragging and dropping in the large pane, but it doesn't allow me. Does anyone know how to change this behavior or could someone explain why it does this?

My understanding of that skydrive behavior is to allow you to drag and drop only to your skydrive cloud account. Did you allow the special skydrive software to be installed on your computer? If so that is probably the program that is doing that.

I can move files and folders just as you described. What's happening when you try and move the folders? Are you trying to move the Dropbox folder? I don't think it will let you do that. Try everything but Dropbox.

I just added the Public Documents folder to the library and tried to move the Misc folder to it, no dice. So Dropbox or Skydrive issues are out, it's definitely Windows behavior.
