Anytime your network drops for no apparent reason, first check your signal at you Network/Sharing window. If it's okay, then check to make sure your power settings aren't allowed to shut down the adapter for any reason.

It's also good to check your network with an external adapter (USB, ExpressCard, etc.) to see if it's an internal adapter issue or not. If you've made any recent changes to your Router (Reset it to factory, changed wireless modes) or adapter, that will also cause a weak signal and concurrent drops.

What I'm trying to say is that don't always assume it's the OS just because it's the most obvious - there are many other reasons people don't consider when things go wrong. Sometimes it is the most obvious, but unless you've had the issue before with W7 I'd look elsewhere.
