Can I activate Windows 7 OEM SP1 more than once in the same computer? Will subsequent activation require me to talk to a Microsoft Representative and convince them that I am not pirating their software?

Typically no as MS has relaxed their policy over the years. As long as the hardware doesn''t change too much you should b OK. One way around the potential problem is to inject the product key but that's really good for Windows 8 and higher that use the KMS server activation process. Injecting the product key is not the same as activating the product.

it's mainly tied to your motherboard IIRC. so long as that does not change then you should be ok.

I have a 3 year old laptop that I have loaded W7 at least 4 times and never had a problem.

Yes, OEM only works on the computer it was made for and as long as there isn't any changes will work.
That is alot of Koolaid drinking aren't we. MS "RELAXED" dream on. Your KMS is comes close to Pirating - you activate online on Windows Server or phone another way is considered Pirating.
That is true as long as it's the same computer the activation will work no matter how long or until they stop supporting W7 updates.

Care to explain the word salad because I don't quite understand what you're conveying.

Product Key injection is legal and even has a dedicated command prompt to accomplish it.

Salad mix is when people think Microsoft is their friend which couldn't be farther from the truth-when it comes to MS Product Key license nor do they just give it out free. But then again people like to think MS should give Product Keys to them when they want it.

Why would one need to inject a Product Key for a UEFI based Windows 8 machine that comes with it preset? Only time I would use another Product Key is when the install isn't the matching OEM Product Key O/S version or is a clean install of different O/S version then the Factory UEFI Product Key for OEM.
