Chill down, guys.
If I have said anything wrong, feel free to correct my mistake. Okay?
The outdated update is KB2525694 ( MS11-041: Vulnerabilities in Windows kernel-mode drivers could allow elevation of privilege: June 14, 2011). Win32k.sys: 6.1.7601.17622
It is replaced by KB2555917 ( MS11-054: Vulnerabilities in Windows kernel-mode drivers could allow elevation of privilege: July 12, 2011). Win32k.sys: 6.1.7601.17630
Thus, it is advisable to uninstall KB2525694.
Look, guys, assume that you reformat your computer now and subsequently install Windows 7 SP1. Then, you connect to Windows Update. Between the 2 aforementioned updates, you will see only KB2555917. Yes, Windows Update will not offer you KB2525694, thus KB2525694 is redundant.
As of now, if you choose to leave it installed, its files will not be used by Windows, thus enlarging winsxs and increase disk fragmentation.
I do exaggerate things a bit since there is only 1 outdated update for this month, but I am sure that you may have a lot of outdated updates installed. I am not talking primarily about hard disk usage since the size of hard disk nowadays is almost big enough to contain everything. It is more about hard disk performance, since the accumulation of older updates slows down your hard disk, which is the slowest component in the laptop.
Even if you are using SSD, you will not want want those outdated updates waste your precious SSD space, right?
Again, if I have said anything wrong, feel free to correct my mistake. No need for any harsh comment, okay?

you note they take space in winsxs. hint: they don't. winsxs is virtual. not even windows reports the correct filesize in there.
and i would never uninstall replaced updates. i just let microsoft do it's job, and do it well. that 1mb might save me .. uhm .. 0.00009% of the space my ssd has (and it's a small one). why should i even move my finger one millimeter for that amount of gain? same for the fragmentation (when on a hdd). it simply doesn't matter. -

people still think filling a harddrive means it gets slower, like filling a car makes it slower. a harddrive has the same speed, no matter the data that is on it.
and care about gigabytes, never about megabytes. we're in near/post terabyte era, megabytes just don't matter AT ALL anymore. do you care on a one kilometer way you have to walk if it's one millimeter longer, or shorter?
so why do you care about a megabyte, or think it has any impact, again? -

Okay, I understand what you guys mean. Sorry that I have misunderstood some concepts.
Let me get this straight. I do not think you guys reinstall Windows on regular basis, say every 2 months the least? Even if you do reinstall Windows, you would use Windows Update to download and install tons of updates, right?
I see that as the common method being practised. What I am trying to say is about another different method of installing most up-to-date Windows, which is to create a customized Windows, as shown in the first link in my signature. I am not saying my method is better, but I am trying to bring the awareness of this method.
Windows updates are slipstreamed into Windows image, before Windows is installed. For this method (customized Windows) to work, you need to keep track of latest updates. That is why I am posting a list of superseeded updates. Yes, not many will find it useful, but it may be some significance to someone like me.
