Is there a way to completely stop programs from bringing focus to themselves with the orange flash on the taskbar? Especially unhelpful when have the taskbar hidden by default and you can't access the menu on many programs because the taskbar is now on top of them.

    Thanks for the help.

Any help? Looked around and all fixes seem to be focused on XP or on just reducing the amount of flashing, not turning it off completely.

There are registry tweak out there for XP (and Vista). Try that and see - back up your W7 registry first.
