    Hi everyone..

When I started my PC today, I got a message that I didn't have real software on my PC. I was really confused, because I HAVE a real copy of Windows 7.

Then I tried to scan my PC with a Microsoft-program, and then it says this:

    http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/powerfull499/validation.png

It says it's Geniune. That means that my copy is 100% real, right? But the screen has only appeared one time, and after several reboots it doesen't occurs again.

Is it a bug, and have some of you guys tried the same?

    Kind Regards Peter

I think it's a bug or something similar. Last week I installed the paid version of Malwarebytes on my Win 7 Ultimate x64 desktop and after re-booting I got a "Windows 7 isn't genuine" pop-up during the boot process. After I logged into the desktop I checked my activation status and it was ok. The "not genuine" message has not appeared since.

    It's a mystery to me...

    Thanks for your input.

Yeah, it must be a bug. But as long our systems are keeping up-to-date, there are no need to be afraid I think :p

    Thanks again.

    Kind Regards powerfull499

Yeah just validate your copy again. This usually happens when theres been big hardware or system file changes.

There's a saying about weird occurrences in IT: If it happens once, it's a coincidence. If it happens more than once, you have a problem.

So, as the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool says your copy of Windows is genuine, I think you're safe to ignore it for now.

windows 7 uses wat not the genuine advantage. they will be rolling out wat very soon for genuine validation. the current methods only check certain things not the way wat will work. wat is windows activation technologies. i have seen this issue on a number of pc's now with win 7 at various times, the most common is someone was using media player and then the notice popped up. i have fixed many clients systems now, and i hope they get this all straight soon.
