    Hello everyone,

I recently installed Windows 7 and ever since, I have had a very annoying problem with my mouse cursor which moves automatically. To explain: If im writing this and the mouse cursor is on the line above this word, then what i'm typing will suddenly be typed in that line, as if I had clicked on it. It is very annoying for someone who types a lot during the day (i'm a translator). What is it? Is it a bug? Can it get fixed somehow? My brother has the exact same problem.

you're going to have to tell us what kind of hardware you have and what word processor.

does your laptop have a touchpad? are you brushing against it while typing?

(computer dummy) How can I find what kind of hardware I have :/?

My laptop has a touchpad yes, and no I'm not brushing against it while typing, I've had this laptop for more than a year and never had this problem before installing windows 7.

Start > type "device manager" in the place where you "search for programs" and click on "device manager' when you see it come up in the search results..

Look for "keyboards" or "mice and other pointing devices" and let us know what you see there...

Try updating the driver from the driver tab and see if it helps..

Also, do you see any yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in any of the entries in device manager?

Btw, what laptop do you have? you could try updating the touchpad driver / software for example? we can get to that in a while..
