Having ordered the Latitude XT2 with the 4500M HD, I'm very excited about trying Windows 7 on it.

For everyone with this GPU, what has your Windows 7 experience been like?

    Quick Specs on the XT2:

    Intel C2D SU9400 1.40 GHz
    2.0 GB DDR3 RAM
    Intel GMA 4500M HD
80 GB 5400 RPM HDD (plan on getting the Intel X18-M soon)

With this integrated graphic accelerator, it's more than enough for Windows 7's Aero effect. Even integrated gpu such as gma 950 from 3-4 years ago is enough to give you the "windows 7 experience".

Haha, nice! That's good to hear(read?).

I'm very excited to try out the enhanced tablet and touch features in Windows 7.

Intel also released (through MS Update) their WDDM v1.1 drivers for Win7. Compared to the older Vista drivers, you get about 30% improvement in Windows Experience scores.

I'm glad to see Intel stepping up and keeping their drivers updated. (fingers crossed)

And I'm 'excited' about the upcoming Intel gpu that will be matched with the current X58 chipset. 'They say' that the performance of that new gpu should (finally) match the newer AMD 3600/4600 mobile chips including being able to use the system memory at full speed. We'll see.

Using this driver in W7 improved my Windows Experience but the video card driver seems glitchier than in Vista for me while playing games.

Do remember that everything concering Win7, especially driver support, will be in flux for some months yet. Gaming and higher-end video editing probably stress the overall system more than anything.
