    Hi,

Went and did the bootcamp thing and installed Windows 7 on my mac. I tried to connect my WD external via firewire, but it would not show up in Windows.

This is after I did a backup of my mac to time machine...is it related and is there a quick fix?

    Thanks

make sure you have the drivers installed for the firewire port.

What filesystem does your external drive use? If you set it up under OS X with an OS X filesystem (HFS), Windows won't be able to see the filesystem as it has no HFS support built-in.

Exactly...if it's formatted fot Mac win7 won't find it. The only format they can both read is FAT but that brings some other limitations
