This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Windows 7 change background for explorer & control panel

    Does someone knwos how can i change the explorer and control panel to black?I've searched everywhere for a theme that changes only the background image for the two but no success :(

    You can't change this with a theme. It requires you to modify the Control panel and Explorer binaries, which is unsupported by Microsoft.

    If you hit up the Seven forums, you'll find entire tutorial on this subject.

    Yeah, I couldn't find it either.

    But... I DID find the solution to something I've been wanting to do for over a year. That is... made the taskbar on the side of my screen thinner. See my sig, if you're interested.

    Now I'm going to look up that other link and see if I want to change backgrounds too!
