Ok, i know that you need to buy windows ultimate to change the language of your Windows 7 OS, just wondering if there is any way at all to change the language without having to buy ultimate.
I currently have Windows 7 Home Premium, so was hoping if there was a download or something i could go by, otherwise i'll be stuck reading german for a long time![]()

Not sure if these work since I haven't personally tried them, but these are official MS MUI download links:
Download Windows 7 MUI Language Packs - Official 32-bit and 64-bit Direct Download Links - KezNews.com
This does beg the question of why you have a German edition of Windows 7 in the first place, though...? -
Just downloaded it, how would i exactly implement the download to change the OS's language though?
As i'm not sure there a specific option to do so on Home premium? -
The language packs are for Ultimate. Sorry, but you have to upgrade to change your language. It's stupid, but that's the way it is.
-
well thanks for clarifying it for me.

Vistalizator - change display language in Windows Vista and Windows 7
Allows you to use language packs in other than Ultimate/enterprise editions.
However I've heard some people think it _might_ trigger some sort of non-genuine alarm since it has to modify some system files. I did warn you -
Why don't you just get home premium in your language? The language packs are for adding languages to the main language installed.
-
I thought you could change the language with a clean install of any version of Windows?
-
You can change the language, if you have a disk with the desired language and the exactly same version of windows 7 than the installed one. If you have a OEM 64bit HP on the notebook, you will need a OEM 64bit HP disk (or a retail HP disk which has both the 32bit and 64bit versions on it), otherwise it will not work.
You will have to install from the disk, but use the key of the computer. The activation can be tricky as you might have to use the automatic phone service.
This is however not a violation of the license, as the language is not bound to the key, but to the disk. -

Of course you can easily change language if you have a languagepack. I did it about 10 days ago. But I already forgot how
What language do You want to install? some LP (lang packs) you can download from microsoft and some not. I searched mine for an hour in internet.
What you need:
-LP of your language lp.cab - without this you can forget about changing
-disk of windows (THE SAME BITs and better the same version you have) - you will need to boot computer from disk to use command prompt
-straight hands which grow from your shoulders instead of an аss.
Open coomand promt via administrator and type:
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath: Path ,where path is a path of lp.cab
Example:
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\lp.cab - If you have put correct cab-file to disk C
or:
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\langpack\lp.cab if it is in folder langpack in drive C
Press Enter
AT FIRST TIME NOTHING WILL HAPPENING BUT DO NOT DO ANYTHINNG UNTIL YOU WILL SEE: "100%" and "The operation completed successfully"
Now reboot computer and push F8 button before windows starts up and choose advanced boot options. Then choose Repair your computer option
If you will not see repair computer (if you will see just save mode etc.) then put inside your Windows's disk and reboot from it. Choose Repair windows 7 x32/64
then wait until you see System recovery options and choose command prompt.
Type:
letter of disk: dir
to see on what disk is your windows (C or D or E)
when you find it type:
dism /image: C or D or E: /Set-SKUIntlDefaults: language code where lang code means 4 letters. English is en-En. Russia is ru-RU. I don't know your language so You can Type before:
dism /image: C or D or E: /Get-Intl to see what lang packs you have installed (2: 1 which was before and 1 which you've just installed), their code and what lang is default.
When you see that your lang is set to default you can reboot your computer.
If you want to delete previous language pack - just ask.
P.S. Now you own me a beer for translating in english and typing all that text for 40 minutes: -
