    Windows 7 drivers for friend's laptop?

    Hi. My friend installed Windows 7 RTM, but then he's lacking some drivers and couldn't find it. His laptop is a Compaq Cq50. Can you help me find links to get drivers for it?

    There are 129 different versions of the Compaq Cq50-XXXXX on the HP Support page http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html. What is the rest of the model number (XXXXX)? If you input Compaq Cq50 for the product name you can view all the model numbers.

    What version of W7 RTM (32 bit or 64 bit) did you install, it matters when looking for drivers.

    You can use the Vista drivers on the HP support page for your Compaq model, just select the drivers and software from either Vista (for 32bit) or Vista (64bit).

    I just installed W7 RTM on my HP DV6775us and W7 installed all the correct drivers automatically except for the video (W7 installed a generic VGA driver)and audio drivers.

    The Nvidia video driver I installed from the HP drivers support for my model but the audio driver from HP wouldn't work properly. W7 listed an optional audio driver download for my chipset so I downloaded and installed it (corrected all audio problems). All issues resolved within 20 minutes.
