The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Just in case this hasn't been posted any student with a valid .edu email can get windows 7 home premium or profesional for only $30 from the website below!

    Be warned however this is only a download of windows 7 i.e. not a disk copy, you download it and install it no CD included. If you want the official Microsoft CD it cost an additional $13.

    Very old news, and you can make a bootable USB or DVD with the downloaded setup files.

    if you are a student, you can probably get i win7 for free via teh msdnaa program.

    no one pays full retail price.

    If I get the discs from the student discount plan, are these discs the same ones they sell in the retail version or do they have some crappy school bloatware preinstalled into these discs?
