Well my GF's notebook(Dell 1420) has a corrupt file in her operating system (Windows Vista). The notebook doesn't want to update or anything. So I figured I could just wipe the hard drive and download Windows 7 on it.
I figured Windows 7 would be faster and just an all around better operating system for her. Since I got my new notebook with 7 I am really enjoying it.
I am a full time college student so I wonder if there are any student deals that get it either cheaper or free.
Well hope to hear from someone with some info.

look if your school has a deal with microsoft, something called msdnaa. at my school university of minnesota, you could buy a windows copy for $10. call the IT department or whoever might know about it.

Make sure you ask them about MSDNAA. That's the keyword you'll need to access the student deals if your university has them.

I believe if you have MSDNAA, you can get office and windows 7 professional for free.
