My desktop has windows 7, and for some odd reasion there is a little windows update icon next to the clock that says updates are ready but when I click on it it open the windows update and it shows a red thing and says the computer has never been updated. This is a brand new install. Is the OS corrupt? Should I reinstall?

Well if this is a new install then it never has been updated. You need to run " Windows Update". About 200+ updates and a few hours later you might will be done. Then come back and we will show you a few things that need to be done.

OK so last night it asked to restart or shut down and there was 200 plus updates. More then half failed. Tried again this morning by going to search and typing windows update it still shows that no updates were never even searched. I tried several. .bat registry tools I found online also tried Microsoft fix still no go.... If it's any help it's windows 7 pro SP1 32bit.

OK go to your start menu / All Programs and click on windows update. It should show you the updates you install and the ones that failed

Weird, as it did install lots of updates. When I press check for updates it searches for hours and never finds anything....

How do you have W7 setup to receive your updates. I had a problem a while ago like yours. Mine would search for hours and nothing BUT if I had my setting set for down load and install I never had a problem. My problem with that is I don't want all there garbage.

Your post #5 , that picture of windows update. On the left hand side look for " how to receive updates" or update setting. It will give you choices on how to get them and install them and a time to check for updates. It can also be found in Control Panel.

Yup after I posted I explored and changes to settings. It found updates. A lot too. Going to install see what happens. Yeah my windows motto is "don't update unless your having problems". This is a fresh install and I better grab what I need before it hits the EOL like XP.

You should always grab security updates and bug fixes, there are definitely updates you can skip, but anything that fixes vulnerabilities should be installed. Otherwise, you end up running an unsecure system, you're vulnerable to various known exploits and in the end the computer is both a danger to yourself and a danger to others as it could be used to distribute malware to others by an attacker.

I got a problem with hidden folders in Windows 7, I mean really hiddens. If i go and select show hidden files won't help, not even in total commander.
I just knew the folder have to have exist, so in TC i tiped "cd folder name" and worked it enters into the folder. But why i cannot see the folder without? How many more folders are exist that I do not even know because they are super hidden?

I got Windows 7 and what your description sounds like your O/S is messed up and can't seem to know it right from left feet. If I choose "show hidden files" I can see them but for you not to see them as Admin would mean your system is corrupted and possibly infected with malware preventing you from seeing the the malware to remove it. Are you sure your system isn't malware infected?
