I just bought windows 7 home premium for $30 using my student email. I bought the 32 bit version for my family. Will the key work on multiple computers and for x64 versions as well?

It will work with both 32 and 64 bit version. It will not work on multiple computers.

The entire purpose, the entire reason for the keys to exist at all, is for the strict, single purpose of preventing a user from installing Windows on multiple computers.

I always find it funny when people think they can get a SINGLE copy of an operating system and think they will be able to spread it around even if it is just the family...

Actually Microsoft DOES sell a family pack version of Win7. I don't remember what they actually call it but it is pretty much what you are describing.

I do that all the time.
    What's the problem?
I find it funny when people think they can only use one key for one computer only.

I bought a single copy of home premium to use on all the systems in my office. I wonder what their deal is. You can activate windows on a different configured system up to ten times on the same key.

Just because a key might work on more than one computer, does not mean it should be used on one than more computers.

Bottom line, check the EULA. You'll find it states you can only install on one computer, or maybe three on that family pack (which might have three individual keys not sure). That student pack? One PC only.
