When XP expired Windows 7 was 48% but now it is at 58%. My reason for posting the link is this may not bode well for Windows 10. Almost everyone with Windows 8.x will be making the changeover. The problem is they now have all these new Windows 7 users to convince. IMHO they should have left XP support in place for an extras 2 years and then dropped the hammer. Then again setting a precedence like that could be an issue as well.

It is called "Foot in Mouth Disease" they can't stick their foot in their mouth fast enough. I for one will not go WinX unless I can remove all traces of Metro that will be the determining factor. If WinXx64 Ult allows me complete control of the GUI then I might chance WinX if and only if. I figure this would happen they drop XP and people go looking for Windows 7....that's something even a pre-schooler would do and how M$ wouldn't think people would go that route after the Win8 debacle. Even on some computer forums I constantly see people asking for help on lost wifi and ethernet connections with Win8/8.1 and I am no wonder people are fed up with Win8 problems. Wifi and Ethernet makes or breaks your Windows...and right now on that forum where they are breaking more then they fix. And I advise people on that site if your Win7 is working don't go Win8 or else risk having more problems to fix then you had before and some found out the hard way after the fact.Last edited: Apr 26, 2015steberg likes this. -
The problem too with waiting though would have been a mass defection to Windows 7 could have been interpreted as a failure of Windows 10. At least now when released it should have a quick adoption rate of Windows 8.x machines to make it look successful.

I do hope that is the case but from my understanding they did listen but not fully listened. So listened in one ear and closed the other ear to complaints.
Windows 7 market share.
