I have a desktop that wont boot at all. It keeps looping the startup no matter what option I click (Including safe mode).

I'm pretty sure I know why this is happening, but I don't know how to fix it. I used this desktop to install windows on my laptop, an Alienware M11x. So I unplugged the 2 hard drives in the desktop, plugged in the fresh one, used the windows install disc to install windows on the new hard drive, then put the hard drive in my alienware. Obviously it wouldnt boot because it was seeing different hardware, so I found online how to reset it to accept the M11x hardware and it has been working since. But when I tried to plug in the old hard drives in the desktop, this problem happened.

The hard drives DO show up in the BIOS, they say they are disabled. I am getting the "0x7b" blue screen (Obviously). I'm just not sure how to fix the problem!

The only time I've experienced this issue is when trying to boot into ACHI mode when the boot was installed form IDE or visa versa.

Also you could try resetting BIOS to defaults. IF issues continue please post the brand of BIOS and revision as well as motherboard specs.

Look on the BIOS for "compatibility" mode for the hard drive controller.
