How well would Win7 run on a 1.66GHz Core Duo (not Core2) with 1GB RAM?

I have mine on like a 1.2 core duo with 2 gig of ram and it is not the fastest machine but it still moves well enough to use.

Only thing else I did was toss in a ssd and that helped alot with the speed

Pretty darned well I should think. I have it working on a 1.60GHz Atom 330 and it works fine with that.

Not sure about the 1 GB of RAM, but I installed it for kicks on my old M140 with a 1.7 ghz Pentium M processor and 2 GB RAM. It runs really well. No aero because of the Intel 910/915 chipset, but whatever.

I'd say if you updated it to 2 GB you'd be golden for sure

The processor isn't going to be a problem, though I would recommend getting a little more RAM (2GB or 3GB).
