Okay, I'm ready to jump on the 7 bandwagon and I have some basic questions.

    1. Is is ok to use DaemonTools (or something similar) to mount the ISO instead of using a DVD?

    2. Can 7 access my Vista Files? Or is it necessary to back everything up (I'm dualbooting btw).

    3. Lol this is a stupid question but which key was it again to choose which OS to boot into again?

    Thanks guys.

i used PowerISO (oh, and WIndows 7 has ISO burning built in!!)

Windows 7 can access them, although first time i tried it wouldn't let me. it would after a reboot.
lol, When you start the pc the bootloader will come up and give you 30 seconds to choose one or default to Win7

I mean, what about after you've used 7 and everything and you want to boot back into XP?

You mean you've used Win7 for a few hours and want WinXP or WinVista for something? Then just restart and choose the other OS. Or, if you mean after the beta expires, you have two options:

*Leave it there and just go to XP/Vista in the bootloader (ideally you'll change the default a few days before it expires).

*Nuke the Win7 partition, go to the Recovery Console on your XP/Vista boot disk, and use fixmbr.

As for accessing your files, you may have to add the partitions within Windows 7 using the Computer Management Disk Management administrative tool (just search "partition" in the Start menu and you'll find it, or Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Manager, probably slightly different in Win7 than the XP I'm looking at right now). Even if it does find them all, the drive letters might be a bit off from XP/Vista, so you may want to adjust them. But so long as you arent' going to format any partitions with data on them, there's no need to backup your data before installing (although if you haven't done so in awhile, it might be advisable for good measure anyways).
