I recently installed Windows 7 RTM 32 bits, and on system it shows
RAM: 4 GB (2,97 USABLE)
Why? I thought my Nvidia GeForce 9200M GS had dedicated video! And as I've heard, you can get 4 GB in 32 bits Windows 7 if your graphics card lets you...
In case you need more specifications here goes my full system:
- HP Pavilion dv5t Entertainment Notebook
- Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26 GHz)
- 15.4" diagonal WSXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Infinity Display (1680 x 1050)
- 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
- 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS
- 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
- Webcam + Fingerprint Reader
- Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card with Bluetooth
- Integrated 56K Modem
- Lightscribe Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer
- HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner
Is there any way to change this?
Thanks in advance for any help!![]()

Uh..., what does the gpu have to do with available ram? You can only get up to about 3.5 gb on a 32-bit system. A dedicated video card has vram that it utilizes instead of the integrated graphics card using the system's memory, thus making more ram available for system(OS)/application use.

this has nothing to do with your graphics card.
32 bit systems can only use upto 3GB of RAM. -
If I am not mistaken you have an Nvidia chipset/motherboard that uses system ram. Download Nvidia system tools and see if you can overclock CPU via raising fsb.
Windows 7 shows 2,97 GB usable out of my 4 GB? (I have GeForce 9200M GS 256mb """DEDICATED""" video)
