    Hi all,

I used Vista home premium 32 bit on my MSI GX620. Now, I freshly installed ( not an upgrade, clean install ) Windows 7 64 bit in it after formatting the Vista partition. Now, for booting up the new OS, it takes around 10-12 minutes!!!!, where it was fast in Vista.. Shutdown and Resume from hibernate is happening at lightning speed. Just that, when i restart the system or, shutdown and then turn on the system, this problem is happening.. Pls help..

I would review the antivirus software set-up. Disable it even and see if any differences.

    cheers ...

    @ Gary,

I dont have any mapped n/w drives.. One thing I can see is that, the hard disk LED is not blinking for the entire waiting time and then when it is about to start, at the last instant, the LED starts blinking. Why will that be happening??

A misbehaving driver is delaying startup. You should ask in the Microsoft Technet forums about this, they can help you more than we do. Most likely you will be asked to download the Windows Performance Toolkit and provide xperf traces. Once you provide the data they can analyze it for you and come up with solutions.
