Hi, I recently installed Windows 7 and the sound crackles, all the time.
I tried to watch a youtube video and can't hardly hear the words.

Its doing it on everything Apart from when I first turn my computer on, and it shows the Asus logo, the sound is perfect on that.

Its definetly not a hardware issue as I had a partition of vista and tried that and it worked perfect. Its been doing it on the Windows 7 partition since I installed Windows 7

Its really annoying me, I can't even listen to a song or watch a video!

I have RealTek hd audio and went on the website and downloaded the latest driver and it didn't change anything.

    Can anyone help please.

    Thanks.

Does your sound card has any Creative software? Uninstall them if you ny and see if it helps. Also, Ensure that you have the latest BIOS and motherboard drivers.

If not, then you should contact ASUS.

Its just been installed, it has a very little amount of programmes and I've checked, and it has no Creative software on it.

And i have updated the bios and still no luck. :(

I've seen quite a lot of issues with realtek and windows 7 on the net and its not been solved anywhere (that I can find) :(

i have the realtek drivers hd and it works perfect. try uninstalling the device from the device manager in the control panel and reboot. when asked, just cancel the wizard and install the drivers from realtek.

I just uninstalled it, and then rebooted, and when it came back on, the sound worked perfect. I didn't even have to install the driver I downloaded.

    Thanks :D
