    Was wondering if you could do this with the "upgrade" option vs. the clean install. I know upgrade would suggest going the other way, but with Microsoft's logic I figure I would ask.

    I assume you mean "Windows Vista to Windows 7 Upgrade"?

    If this is the case, then Microsoft should offer an upgrade package. They have done so in the past with XP -> Vista.

    There's 2 reason for calling it an "Upgrade", and not to be a wisea$$ either. One is to infer you're going from an older to a newer version of something, which you are; and also to define that fact that you're also moving up to a more technically capable edition. So you can't "Upgrade" to something that's "down" below it, and that's true with most programs. You can wipe out an install and downgrade with a new install...

    I think they only do OLDER -> NEWER not NEWER -> OLDER.

    They offered users the ability to downgrade/upgrade to XP from Vista. This did cause more problems for most users though.

    Portal is indeed awesome :p
