Just wondering, has anyone noticed windows 7 hasn't had an update in a little while? Since August 10th?

LOL, and thats surprising?
I hate those little updates every few days, I disable the service, until there is a service pack release. -
Wow, you go a long time between updates.....
-
-
this tends to freak me out too, but they release them the second tuesday of every month, right?
we are flooded with updates then, usually... -
Like agusman said, Patch Tuesday is the second Tuesday of each month. That's generally when the security updates come out.
Disabling Windows Update is a horrible idea. Assuming you have a computer more powerful than an abacus, the update system shouldn't take more than a minuscule fraction of computing power, and shouldn't be noticeable to the user. Windows Update is what patches the security flaws that are found in the system. Disabling it is a huge risk to system security and stability. -
"Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them."
Works fine... Then nothing happens unless you choose to, except a notification. -
-
And why this upgrade needs?
-
Because they are usually patches for security flaws as stated above.
-
Imagine buying a fridge or a TV that's imperfect(flawed) and then every second Tuesday of the month the company makes it a little better.Rediculus???Well we accept that from allmighty Microsoft and its OS.
-
Unfortunately certain individuals like repeatedly finding ways to exploit Windows, hence the release of updates to plug the holes. It is a vicious circle that never ends (since Windows is the most widely used os).
-
Bottom line, there is nothing ridiculous at all about such updates, given the fact that nothing in ths universe is "almighty", not even a big company like Microsoft. They're all run by humans, you know. -
-
seems as though 'technical guy' is missing a little 'technical' knowledge........
-
Disabling updates is a plain stupid idea. Why do you think MS releases them!? its to fix their horribly insecure OS
-
...As for the neighbor breaking your product poor Linux it seems has found a way to be unbreakable.Microsoft's expensive product seems a little "fragile".
-
-
-
Linux is very stable, but part of that is because the users that choose to use Linux are generally the smarter portion of the population. They're not stupid enough to never update their computer, or forgo the built-in user privilege levels and give everything full administrative access. -
-
Ok, list the flaws in the OS. And tell me exactly how Linux does it better. Provide concrete examples of where Linux implements something better than Windows. We'll see who knows about operating systems, and who's just talking because they have nothing better to do.

Thread closed before it deteriorates more into a bickering match/ flame war.
FYI, I suggest looking into the ignore feature in usercp. It is a great way not to get banned
