Hi, my friend bought an acer laptop(with vista home premium) in Aug this year and he is entitled to the windows 7 free upgrade(just need to pay for the shipping). But he don't want it.

So my question is, since he don't want it, I take it(I pay for the shipping with his consent, of course). Get the upgrade disc and use it on my hp computer(with vista home premium)? Can the disc work?

Second question. If next time, he wants the upgrade, can I format my computer thereby erasing the windows 7, and he use the same upgrade disc on his acer laptop, will he be able to activate it?

    Thanks..

I don't think you are allowed or be able to do this kind of upgrade. The upgrade disc is only for that particular Acer laptop and cannot or should not be used on another laptop, unfortunately.

Yes that version of Windows 7 will be branded for an Acer laptop. Kinda like the old recoveruy discs would only work with pcs from the same brand.
