    Hi guys,

I have a Dell and HP laptop both running Vista Home Premium. I've just got a new Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade kit. If I install it on the Dell and decide that I want it on the HP instead, is it possible to remove it from the Dell and load it on the HP? Or is the initial decision final? =S

An off-topic question, what's the best remote desktop software to use to help troubleshoot my parents' computer?

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Milt

If you have the OEM version, then no, but if you have the retail copy, the yes. You can deactivate the key on the Dell, then install it on your HP.

I got the win 7 upgrade through the free upgrade offer because I bought the HP laptop after June 26. Is that OEM or retail?

Any suggestions for the off-topic question?

I'm not sure, but I think that the Upgrade version does not allow it to be moved. Try doing some research on Google, you may find a way around it.

ahh bugger. does that mean it should only legally be installed on the HP laptop?

well the regular upgrade is allowed to be swapped but depending on the particular eula and/or agreement you accepted with HP. you might want to read either ofthese on the site you registered it with or documentation that came with the disk...
