Since I began using Windows 7, I have encountered a consistent and aggravating issue during boot up. As indicated in the title, the display flashes black while loading the desktop. The flash lasts between 0.5 and 2 seconds, and appears after log in. I have performed a clean install on three separate occasions (for various reasons), and on each installation, experienced the same behavior. I have tried numerous drivers from NVIDIA, and have observed that the screen flashes even with the Standard VGA Adapter driver. This does not appear to be a hardware issue, since it occurs consistently only while loading the desktop.

For clarification, I have uploaded this video to demonstrate the aforementioned behavior (0:32 to 0:33)

Note that I have performed various diagnostics and tried various configurations in msconfig. Nevertheless, at this moment, I cannot recall if the OS produces this behavior during Safe Mode, but will report back the results momentarily. This issue is merely an annoyance, and does not affect system performance or stability, but if I can eradicate this behavior, it would certainly set my mind at ease. Any support is much appreciated. I am looking for solutions that are not blatantly obvious, but am willing to perform additional diagnosis in the prospect that I managed to overlook any details.

    Edit:
It appears that I may have found the culprit. After spending some more time investigating the behavior, I narrowed the start up programs down to the Dell ControlPoint System Manager that's run at start up through the "startup" folder. I no longer seem to encounter the black flashing with the display. I suppose I always installed ControlPoint so early in setting up Windows that I was unable to identify a connection.
