Is there any drivers out there for this thing? If not i'll be of course using "xp mode" from the windows 7 options but if there was, i was just going to install it now and print off my documents. I do imagine that i can install the driver software inside of the xp mode. If not then i don't see why microsoft would release it as it's supposed to fix compatibility issues.

Is there a driver out there for it? currently it doesn't even show up on this version of windows 7, originally it was a vista x86 machine. I changed it since it has 3gb of ram installed, and a 64bit capable cpu.

Are you seriously asking if there is a driver for a printer that you have thus far refused to give a model number for?

I didn't think so....no one would do something like that and expect an answer.....

I have one for you---I have a car and I need a key to start it. Could you send me a key? Oh, it's a blue car if that will help you in sending me a key.

EDIT--I was perhaps a bit more glib than I intended. For the most part, Vista drivers will work for most printers. Sometimes, HP has some generic drivers. but you still need to identify the printer

woops thought i listed it... hmm oh well :/

It is a HP Color Laserjet 1600. I tried the vista 64bit driver but for some reason it install it into the program files(x86) folder which tells me otherwise as far as it being a "64bit" driver. Also it is the one that refuses to recognize the driver i tried manually adding it and the little tool bar thing only shows 1700 as the earliest i guess hp truly hates people.

My HP Deskjet don't have the supported Driver for Windows 7 as well.
But after some research and testing, it seems the HP Deskjet works on Windows 7 with just plug-in the USB. Windows 7 install the driver automatically and I can scan and print stuffs after that.

Ok please explain to me how i get the driver then.... I just said it's not being read by the usb when i plug it into 7. It worked one time but after that it's not wanting to read it. So how can you install a driver that'll let you read it if it won't be read...

Edit somehow the usb connection in the back came out... damn dogs seems one of them was running under the desk andpulled it out or something similar. Oh well this thread can be closed now.
