Hi there, this isn't of high priority, but I couldn't find the answer by googling - mostly my own curiosity.

I did a clean install of windows 8 last night - I initially did the normal upgrade process, but it was a wee bit buggy from the start, and just grew more and more unstable (to the point I was concerned my computer was bricking). Anyway, after clearing all the harddrive partitions, and reinstalling from my USB, everything is running nicely so far. However, I noticed that my screensaver settings were maintained. I was a little confused by this - does microsoft save your screensaver settings to your online account? Or did I somehow balls up my clean install?

Sorry for the trivial-ness, but thanks for any responses!

With Windows 8, some settings such as wallpaper are set to sync between Windows 8 devices by default. You can disable it if you want though.

The entire theme is synced. If you look under Personalize you can see one of the themes is "Synced Theme"

As an aside, if you have multiple machines and make your own wall papers be sure to make it the same size as your highest resolution. In this way as you synch each device the wallpaper will not get blocky on that high res screen. The other option too is to not synch the machines.
