I just this morning purchased a Lenovo Yoga. I am looking for a PDF reader that mimics the interface that android and apple use on their mobile devices. So I want one that have pinch to zoom, and also changes pages with a swipe. What type of PDF reader would I use?

Also I need like a starters guide to windows 8. I have absolutely no clue how to use this machine or how to work the interface at all. Specifically how to install programs and where they appear when I do install things such as games.

Also is there a dropbox app yet? I have yet to really find one or Is skydrive preferred? I have never used skydrive so im not too sure how to use that either

Leave it on the default PDF reader, simply called "reader." Inside the Reader interface, swipe from the top or bottom bezel to bring up toolbars, then change from "continuous" (the top-to-bottom scroll that's the default) to "one page" or "two pages" and you can turn pages by swiping from left to right. Pinch to zoom works very smoothly.

Do you have the Yoga 11 (Windows RT) or Yoga 13 (Windows 8)? If you have the Yoga 11, use the "store" app (green tile with a shopping bag) to get new apps. It's like Apple's app store or Google Play. If you have the Yoga 13, you can either use that or install software on the desktop just like you would in Windows 7.

How to interact in a nutshell. Like the tutorial says, it's all about swiping from the bezels.

RIGHT BEZEL: Swiping from the right bezel brings up the "charms"--settings (for the app you're in), the home key (the Windows key), etc.

TOP AND BOTTOM BEZELS: Swiping from the top or bottom (both do the same) brings up toolbars for the app you're in, such as text formatting in the mail client and the url bar in Internet Explorer.

LEFT BEZEL: Swipe from the left bezel to switch to the previous app. Move your finger partly in and then back out to bring up a list of all open apps. When dragging a window in from the left (whether it be the last app or one from the list), hover it about an inch in from the bezel and it'll snap to fit the left quarter of the screen. Finally, drag an app from the left bezel to the bottom of the screen to close that app (good with games and other resource-intensive apps; don't worry about stuff like news readers that don't use many resources).

No dropbox app yet. I'm sure one is on the way. Regardless, I think Skydrive is better; you get 7 gb for free instead of 2 gb for free, as a starter.

I have the 13" yoga with windows 8. I did open a PDF but used a different program that was installed as I guess bloatware and im not sure how to open the file again using a different program. I do miss the old file manager system. how do I now set the default program to open pdf as the default reader?

One way to do it is the same as I personally did it in Win 7. Right-click on a file of that type in the desktop > "open with" > "choose default program."

Another option is to open the control panel (hit the win key and start typing "control panel") and then select "default programs."

Not familiar with Yoga, anyway, it's a Lenovo, a reliable brand.

As for me I do not use the inbox Microsoft Windows 8 PDF Reader, it's not convenient when I try to open and view PDF files on my Laptop.

Even in Continuous mode, the speed is not satisfactory.

My colleague recommends a free PDF viewer called PDF Reader for Windows 8. This PDF Reader allows me to read, view, and print PDF document just like with Adobe Acrobat XI. Best of all, it's faster than Adobe. You can give it a go if your Yoga comes with an Intel processor.

    Good luck!
